We are a virtually integrated non-profit corporation based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. We started operating as a charitable corporation dedicated to decreasing the incidence and prevalence of infectious diseases in LMICs. With the awareness of the recent dramatic increase in the prevalence of chronic, non-communicable diseases in these countries, we are now fully committed to capacity building in the affected communities.

We believe that community-based participatory approaches to capacity building will empower entire communities and lead to efficient and sustainable interventions that will decrease the incidence of these threatening diseases in a timely manner. In this light, we do not have patients and research subjects in the communities in which we work – we have true partners.

By empowering our community partners and other stakeholders though capacity-building, we will avert the emerging humanitarian crisis (that will otherwise result from the community being unable to deal with the double burden of infectious diseases and chronic, non-communicable diseases) in an efficient and sustainable manner.
